I love the idea of bringing a new life to old furniture. We bought a used IKEA 3-seated Kivik sofa for our apartment on Facebook Market. Then we got covers from the Scandinavian brand Bemz. It is a company that specializes in creating high-quality, custom-fit covers for IKEA furniture. This allows you to update the look of your IKEA pieces without purchasing new furniture.

I wanted to create a warm, cozy feel with a soft, but at the same time modern look. I like the soft minimalism trend in interior design. It perfectly fits our current home decor.

The last and most important step is to choose a fabric that you like the most. The easiest way is to decide on the material type first. Ask, yourself, do you like harder or softer materials? Do you prefer neutral, earthy color tones or bright ones? Do you like light color palettes at home or you prefer dark ones? On the Bemz website, there is a huge range of fabrics: cotton, linen, wool, velvet, and others. And all are in different colors and patterns.

It's such a great idea to be able to see the fabrics in real life and compare them before ordering. I ordered 5 different fabric samples and was comparing them to my home walls furniture, decor, etc. to see how contrasting and suitable the color tone and material are.

And my final decision was a Natural Linen fabric cover in natural linen color. I find it's color and texture cozy and soft. Exactly what I wanted! I think is a great choice for people who want a relaxing area at home.

The process of changing the covers itself was really fast and smooth.
